wer mein errichtete seefahrtkreuzer

Beitrag von mattyg » Mo 14. Apr 2008, 21:32

Dear mattyg,

I assume that you are an english speaking person and I would recommend to place your question at the Freundeskreis Forum in english language. This would be much easier to understand than the silly stuff you translation engine created ;-)

Could you give some more details and photos of your boat ? In 1936 there have been build a lot of 50 square meters by Abeking and Rasmussen and many other german boatbuilders.
Please also refer to website and book www.windfallyachts.com by Michael Cudmore.

Dear Ulli

Thank you for replying. I did post this message in English but after six weeks without a reponse I thought I would try the translation. I have Michael Cudmore's book and have visited the web site. Esliina has no clues as to her maker. She has a couple of A&R blocks but these could be from anywhere. I have checked through the A & R register but no sign of Esliina. However it is very likely that she does not bear her original name. Having looked at many pictures on the internet, the yacht that most closely resembles her is the 1937 A&R yacht now named Pinta, recently resored by Rexwinkel of Holland. I do not believe that Esliina was ever a windfall. She still is German flagged and her port is Hamburg. She was bought to the UK by her former German and Finnish owners. I am not sure of the mechanicas of posting pictures on this website but she can be seen at my restoration blog http://seefahrtkreuzer.blogspot.com/.

Again thank you for your response.
